The role of the parent in the learning process is very important, especially for the motivation of the learner. Research has shown that the triangle parent – teacher – learner is a strong predictor for academic success. The “Rebooting” applications have been designed in a way that facilitates meaningful parent participation. This is accomplished in two different ways:
- The platform provides detailed and easy to read visualizations of the student’s learning process and achievement, so that the parent may monitor their children’s progress and effort, in terms of specific learning milestones.
- The videos and the learning material provide authentic opportunities of interaction between parents and learners. The themes and cultural context included in the “Rebooting” applications stimulate the dialogue and offer rich experiences that parents and children can share and pursue further.
